Couples and Marriage Counseling
Do you and your partner have trouble resolving conflict?
Do you long for more emotional and physical intimacy?
If you're going over the same ground again and again without resolution, it might be time to invest in couples or marriage counseling.
Contact me and we'll schedule a free 30 minute consultation to discuss your situation and how marriage
therapy can help.
Over 25 years of my having specialized in marriage and couples therapy has resulted in
this therapeutic approach:
Phase 1:
Practice with the communication skills needed to create a more positive relationship environment. This will include learning about reactivity in difficult conversations, along with ways to reduce defensiveness and
increase your ability to resolve conflict.
Phase 2:
Exploring the history of this relationship, what brought you together and what has led to distance and dissatisfaction over time. As we identify contributing factors and events, we'll work to heal more recent wounds and increase intimacy and trust.
Phase 3:
The deeper exploration of earlier relationships, especially those from childhood and the influences of those formative experiences. We'll look at how you came to see yourself as you grew up and the relationship style you developed in those early years. Along the way, we'll work to heal any childhood wounds in an effort to
increase your personal and relationship happiness.
